100ms, a live video infrastructure firm based in San Francisco and Bengaluru, revealed on Friday that it has raised $20 million in a Series A round of funding headed by Alpha Wave Incubation (AWI).
Alpha Wave Global manages the $300 million AWI venture fund, which is supported by DisruptAD, ADQ's venture platform.

In addition to previous investors Accel and Strive.VC, Matrix Partners India, and LocalGlobe have joined the round.

According to an official release, the company hopes to use this amount of funding to assist developers in quickly building and deploying enterprise-class video apps.

100ms claims to have had over 20X growth in usage metrics over the previous quarter with customers like WhiteHat Jr, Circle, Paytm Insider, Frontrow, and Kutumb.

According to Kshitij Gupta, CEO of 100ms and former Vice President of Engineering at Disney-Hotstar,

"For most organizations, building and managing video infrastructure at scale is a non-trivial task. In less than a half-dozen lines of code, we want to make it simple for businesses of all sizes to create deeper-than-physical live video experiences within their products."

Product makers can use 100ms to add live video interactions to online courses, virtual events, audio rooms, online communities, telehealth, and other applications.

It raised $4.5 million in a seed round headed by Accel in October 2021.

Managing Director of Falcon Edge's Alpha Wave Incubation, Anirudh Singh, added,

"In a variety of verticals, video-based solutions will be a crucial driver in the development of B2B and B2C products. 100ms has produced a sophisticated, yet simple-to-use platform allowing businesses to add high-end, live engagement capabilities in a cost-effective manner by abstracting the intricacies of video streaming. The market for this is global, and 100ms is primed to be the market leader in this field because of its distinctive GTM."
